David Downes was invited by the Chelsea FC Foundation to paint a large aerial view of Stamford Bridge in order to draw attention to the Club’s sensory room and commitment to accessibility.

David spent the day with a group of young students from Abingdon House School sharing his skills and experience as an artist with autism and was joined by ex-Chelsea player, Paul Canoville who is also doing great work through the Paul Canoville Foundation.

Chelsea FC TV filmed the day and released this short film on World Autism Awareness Day, 2 April 2024 to show the power of football and art to raise awareness for autism.
